About Training Program

The goal of this Training Program is to assist eligible TANF participants age 18 and up in obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL). The CDL curriculum will be provided by a number of local partners with accredited programs in order to prepare participants for state licensure. This program builds on the collaborative effort in program services to better serve individuals who may benefit from both the TANF and WIOA Services programs.Commercial driving skills and the CDL credential  are in demand in today’s local and national labor market.

CDL Truck Driver Training Program

If you're prepared to get your CDL, check out our brand-new CDL Truck Driver Training Program, which emphasizes occupational skills training and provides both classroom instruction and hands-on training.


  1. Must reside in Faulkner, Lonoke, Monroe, Prairie, Pulaski or Saline county, AND

  2. be a parent with a child under the age of 18 that lives in Arkansas; AND

  3. have a family income less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level; OR

  4. receive other public assistance such as SNAP or other benefits.

Please Note:

Participants are required to provide documentation to verify the family unit and the income of the family unit.  This verification must be obtained for both eligibility and participation verifications of earning must be documented.  Acceptable documentation may include check stubs, time sheets, and payroll reports or statements signed by employer. Participants who are receiving TEA, SNAP, or Medicaid may obtain verification from DHS.
