Individuals with a criminal record can experience the struggle of obtaining employment, receiving government benefits, and even obtaining loans.
Excitingly, the Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area (CAWDA) has collaborated with Shorter College and the Center for Arkansas Legal Services to provide legal access to assist low-income Arkansans with sealing their criminal records.
Although not all records are eligible to be sealed, the clinic will provide Arkansans with the opportunity to overcome this barrier and will increase their potential to obtain future employment.
The clinic will be held on October 27, 2017 at Shorter College, located at 604 Locust Street, in North Little Rock.
Interested applicants are encouraged to contact the Helpline to schedule their appointment at 501-376-3423 or 1-800-950-5817. For more information about services through Arkansas Legal Services, visit www.arlegalservices.org.
