THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW ABOUT THE VIRCO HIRING EVENT

On November 28, 2017, VIRCO, a local manufacturing company, contacted the Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway to assist with their recruitment efforts to fill 50-70 available positions. Immediately, to assure that the recruitment needs were fulfilled, the Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area’s (CAWDA) Business Service Team met with VIRCO to develop a plan of action.


In December of 2017, the Business Service Team completed the development of the plan, which included a new idea of creating videos to promote VIRCO and its employees, with a focus on why individuals would want to work there. Once approved, these videos were posted on social media and the outreach results were tremendous. Astonishingly, this event reached over 96,000 individuals online and broke new ground, becoming the largest online event promotion that the CAWDA has ever hosted. As a result, 386 job seekers attended the VIRCO hiring event on January 9, 2018.


Overall, the VIRCO hiring event was a tremendous success.  The employer was pleased with the results and it provided numerous individuals with new career opportunities.  The finalization on the number of job  placements are expected soon.
