Kimberly-Clark in Conway uses WIOA to assist remaining employees as company prepares to close

Over the last few years, the Central Arkansas Workforce Development Area has had the chance to assist the Kimberly-Clark factory in Conway with their plant closure.

Kimberly Clark contacted the Business Service Team in August 2020, looking for advice on how to help their employees. In collaboration with the Arkansas Dislocated Workers Task Force, a virtual hiring event was held to provide workers with variety available resources and potential job opportunities from local companies such as Manpower, Tru-Fab, Lamb & Associates, Cypress Cold Storage, SCA Pharma, Wrights Cabinets, HMS Manufacturing, Lomanco, SFI, Virco, Dillards, and Washington Inventory Services (WIS).

In September 2021, working with valued partners such as the Arkansas Division of Workforce Services and the West Central Planning and Development District, the 34 remaining employees received information on unemployment, job opportunities, and other opportunities they may be eligible for.

Although we will miss working with Kimberly-Clark in Conway, it has been an absolute pleasure working with them, and we are grateful to have supported them and over 300+ workers by giving them with the next step toward a new and hopeful future following their departure from the company.

Kimberly-Clark Employees receive information prior to their department with the company.
