Caring for an aging loved one is a meaningful role—but it can also be overwhelming. To ensure family caregivers have the support, encouragement, and resources they need, CareLink is expanding its outreach and services across Central Arkansas, including plans to facilitate a monthly Family Caregiver Support Group.
Nyvelyn Shaw, Family Services Coordinator at CareLink, has begun connecting with senior centers throughout Central Arkansas to strengthen partnerships and make caregiver support more accessible in local communities. These efforts aim to create safe and welcoming spaces where caregivers can share their experiences, learn from one another, and acquire practical tools for navigating care at home.
Family Caregiver Support Groups
CareLink’s caregiver support groups are free, confidential, and facilitator-led, offering both in-person and online options. These groups provide a judgment-free environment where caregivers can find community, encouragement, and advice from others who understand the challenges of caregiving.
Free Counseling Assistance for Caregivers
CareLink also offers free counseling assistance to help caregivers manage stress and maintain their own well-being. Services include:
Choice of preferred counselor
Co-payment coverage
Group or individual counseling sessions
Caregivers are encouraged to connect with CareLink to find the support that best fits their needs and helps them navigate caregiving with confidence.
