When Joseph Moore first walked into the North Little Rock Workforce Center, he was searching for an opportunity.
With no prior work experience and limited social skills, Joseph faced challenges in the beginning of his employment journey.
Referred by a family member, he came to the center seeking guidance and support in finding a job.
Through the center’s Out-of-School Work Experience program, Joseph was given the chance to gain valuable on-the-job training.
Additionally, he was referred to Adult Education services for TABE testing, which helped him take important steps toward building his skills and confidence.
Despite having little experience, Joseph seized the opportunity to learn and grow.
His hard work and determination led him to secure employment with the Jacksonville Senior Wellness Center, where he now earns $12 per hour. In his role, Joseph assists with deliveries, helps pack lunches for seniors, and contributes to daily operations that directly serve the community.
Along the way, Joseph also earned a CPR certification and completed additional training, further strengthening his ability to succeed in the workplace.
Staff who worked with Joseph shared how much progress he has made, noting that he went from being shy and uncertain to thriving in his new environment.
“Joseph has been great to work with. He was shy, had no work experience, and his social skills were not strong. He now thrives and has gained a CPR certification and other training. He enjoys his job,” the staff shared.
Joseph’s journey is a true success story—showing how persistence, opportunity, and support can open the door to a brighter future.
