BOBBIE WOOD'S SUCCESS STORY

Bobbie Woods, a recent high school graduate, visited the Workforce Center in North Little Rock for guidance and assistance in October 2021, after a year of unsuccessful job searching.

After meeting with her career counselor, she learned that the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Out of School Youth program could give her the work experience she needed to develop the skills she needed to obtain employment.

On November 11, 2021, Bobbie started the program's Work Experience component at the We Care Community Center in Higgins, Arkansas. She was assigned the task of organizing the children's library as her first project, and because she is extremely well-organized and meticulous about cleaning, she excelled in completing the task at hand. She thrived at working with kids during summer tutoring and other activities, and she learnt many new skills.

Following the conclusion of Work Experience, Bobbie prepared for and passed her driving test. She was employed by We Care Community Center on February 26, 2023, and has since started working there. She will use this opportunity as a terrific stepping stone to help her thrive in her future professional pursuits.
