Free Pharmacy Technician & Microsoft Office 365 Classes offered at UA–PTC

The University of Arkansas – Pulaski Technical College (UA-PTC) Adult Education Program is offering two free classes designed to prepare individuals for rewarding careers and enhance essential workplace skills — Pharmacy Technician and Microsoft Office 365.



Pharmacy Technician Class

Pharmacy Technicians play a vital role in healthcare by assisting pharmacists with dispensing medications in retail and hospital settings. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, technicians handle prescription preparation, communicate with healthcare providers, and manage medication inventory.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Gathering prescription information from customers or healthcare professionals

  • Measuring, packaging, and labeling medications accurately

  • Managing inventory and reporting shortages to the pharmacist

  • Assisting with refill authorizations and operating dispensing equipment

Microsoft Office 365 Class

This free training series introduces students to the core Microsoft 365 applications — Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Participants will gain foundational digital literacy skills essential for success in modern workplaces.


Word:

  • Learn to create, open, and save documents

  • Practice formatting, lists, tables, and proofing tools


PowerPoint:

  • Explore slide creation, graphics, charts, and presentation delivery

  • Develop professional presentation skills


Excel:

  • Build and format spreadsheets

  • Use formulas and functions for calculations

  • Manage data and print professional reports
