The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is once again offering free, IRS-certified tax preparation services to individuals and families earning $69,000 or less per year. This valuable community service helps ensure accurate tax returns at no cost, easing the financial burden during tax season.
VITA services are made possible through the dedication of trained volunteers who assist community members with preparing and filing their taxes. Their work helps taxpayers maximize eligible credits and comply with IRS requirements—completely free of charge.
In addition to serving taxpayers, VITA is currently seeking volunteers for the upcoming tax season. No prior tax experience is necessary, as training is provided for all volunteers. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to give back to the community, gain valuable skills, and support financial stability for local families.
If you are interested in making a VITA appointment, signing up to volunteer, or learning more about the program, visit www.uwcark.org or call 501-327-5087 for additional information.
Special thanks to the 2026 VITA sponsors—Arvest Foundation, Farmers Insurance, and Entergy—for their continued support in making this program possible.
Whether you need free tax help or want to make a difference as a volunteer, VITA is here to support the community this tax season.
