From Barriers to the Open Road: Briceson Banks Achieves Career Success Through WIOA

Driving Toward a Brighter Future: Briceson Banks’ Success Story

Briceson Banks visited the Arkansas Workforce Center in Lonoke, seeking guidance and support to establish a stable career. At just 20 years old, Briceson met with a career consultant from the Central Arkansas Planning and Development District (CAPDD) to explore training opportunities that could lead to meaningful employment.

At the time of his visit, Briceson was unemployed, receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and had been unsuccessful in finding work despite actively seeking employment. As a high school dropout with no additional degrees or certifications, he faced several barriers to employment. However, Briceson had a clear goal—he was interested in pursuing a career in truck driving.

With the support of his career consultant, Briceson completed a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) application. He successfully provided all required documentation and was determined to be eligible for the WIOA Adult Program. Briceson completed all necessary assessments and paperwork as part of the enrollment process.

Briceson applied to 160 Driving Academy and was accepted into the program. Through WIOA funding assistance, he was able to attend the training and focus fully on developing the skills needed for his chosen career. Briceson completed the training course and earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Congratulations to Briceson on this outstanding accomplishment!
