JACQUASIA WARD'S SUCCESS STORY

Taking charge of her future, single mom, Jacquasia Ward contacted the Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway to assist her in obtaining her very first job.

After discussing her goals with her career consultant, Ashlee Ennis, Jacquasia was enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program. She participated in multiple Job Readiness classes that covered workplace etiquette, interviewing and soft skills, how to build a resume, leadership development, time management, financial literacy, and more.

Shortly after, she participated in the Work Experience Program where she gained helpful work experience at two local worksites, Goodwill and TJ Maxx. In December of 2018, Jaquasia felt confident in herself and started applying for jobs. Excitedly, she was able to find unsubsidized employment with Steak-N-Shake.

Jaquasia stated that she is excited and appreciative of the opportunities that she was given while in the WIOA Youth Program. Additionally, her career consultant and other partners in the program are proud of how far she has come.
