MYESIA VANCE'S SUCCESS STORY

Myesia Vance thought a career in the health industry was out of reach until she was introduced to the Arkansas Workforce Center in North Little Rock and was determined to make a better life for herself.

Once approved to participate in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Adult program, she met with Wanda Lewis, Career Consultant, to address her goals. As a young single female, her concerns mainly focused on obtaining training so she could be more marketable in the workforce and provide for herself.

Accordingly, Myesia enrolled in Registered Nursing Program at Baptist Health College Little Rock on June 14, 2018. Due to her dedication, she not only received her degree, she graduated from Baptist Health College in 2019, received her Registered Nursing License, and later received gainful employment at Baptist Medical Center earning a wage of $23.98 per hour.

Despite her obstacles, the WIOA Adult Program allowed her to crush her barriers and succeed in obtaining her degree and a new career in the Health Care Industry.
