They say every journey begins with a first step, but due to the lack of work experience, Nayah Craig needed help making her mark in the workplace after being unsuccessful with her job search. Connecting with the Arkansas Workforce Center in Conway, in hopes of finding assistance in obtaining employment, she enrolled in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth Program.
Once approved, she participated in the Job Readiness Training Activity where she gained knowledge about Resume Building, Interviewing Skills, and Dressing for Success.
Shortly after, she enrolled in the Work Experience Program where she had the opportunity to work at TJMAxx. Being impressed with her strong work ethic and excelling in her job duties, TJMaxx offered Nayah her full-time employment as a Sales Associate, which she excitedly accepted. In the event that individuals need assistance with obtaining work experience and work skills, Nayah encourages individuals to go to their local workforce center.
Overall, she was able to reach her goals and can now apply her determination and learned skills in the workforce. Now, she is positive, confident, and focused on advancing in her career.
