Valerie Pearson, a motivated single mother, thought a career in the health industry was out of reach until she was introduced to the Arkansas Workforce Center in Brinkley’s Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program provided by MedLinc.
Regardless of her situation, she was determined to make a better life for her family and on March 19, 2018, she enrolled in the two week CNA Training Program.
Having perfect attendance, she participated in classroom and lab instruction, hands-on-training, and learned valuable skills that were utilized during the Employer Connect Day event where she met with numerous employers hiring in the area.
Though the journey was not easy, Valerie worked hard and earned her CNA Certificate with funding from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and shortly after, her state license.
Upon completion, she was hired by Elite Home Health and Superior Home as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Today, she plays an important role in health care and loves her job.
